A place to call home

Well, dear friends, it is with overwhelming joy that we can finally say “We have a home!” Let’s take a moment to allow that to sink in. We have a home. After months of searching, months of knocking on doors and visiting sites, months of making proposals and dreaming up plans, then ultimately having doors close and starting all over again – on repeat – we have a HOME. Glory to God!
In September of this year, we will be opening our doors at Morse Place Community Centre, welcoming our students in, and beginning this blessed and important work. Of course, the reality is there is so much more work to accomplish between now and then, but let us just bask in this moment a wee bit longer, shall we?
For those of you who are not familiar with the location, Morse Place is located at 700 Munroe Avenue in the East Kildonan neighbourhood. We described the space in our last newsletter, but let us just say again that the rooms are spacious, the rows of windows let in a ton of natural light, and the building has been well cared for. Plus, the opportunities for outdoor play during the school year are unmatched! We have been truly blessed with this space.
Now that we have secured our location, we would like to urge all of those families who would like to join Heavenly King to submit your applications as soon as possible. We’ve extended the first round of applications until March 16th, at which time we’ll start to advertise the school to the broader community. Our class sizes are small, so spaces are very limited. Please don’t delay!
We also have wonderful news for our younger families! We are able to offer half-time Kindergarten during this school year, with 4 morning and 4 afternoon spots available. These spots are going to fill up extremely fast, so get those applications in quickly and indicate your preferred time slot.

The wine raffle and 50/50 draw were a success, thank you so much for your support! The winners have been contacted and their names have also been posted up on the raffle site. Now that we have a home, we have a better idea of the types of expenses we will be facing to outfit the space, so our fundraising efforts are only just beginning. Please stay tuned for more opportunities to help!
